Causes of bursting of pomegranate fruit.

Pomegranate fruit cracking is a serious problem.  It is not a fungal disease.  This is usually due to nutrient deficiencies or variations in soil moisture.  A lack of moisture in the soil during fruit growth during dry weather results in stunted fruit growth and hardening of the fruit skin.  Then, when there is a sudden rain, there is an excess of juice in the soil, as a result, the inner part of the fruit expands at a rapid rate, which can not withstand the internal pressure, and the skin of the fruit bursts.

 Remedy:

Pomegranate trees should be irrigated regularly after fruiting.  If necessary, the entire plant should be soaked with water early in the morning and evening.

Boron fertilizers like boric acid should be applied to the soil at the rate of 20 grams per plant.

Apart from this, during the growth of fruit, 2 grams of Solubor Boron per liter of water should be mixed and sprayed on the fruit and trees at intervals of 10 days.

Fruit cracking can be greatly reduced or controlled by applying organic fertilizers.
